My hubby hates Valentine’s Day.  Not because he doesn’t love to buy me things or surprise me with sweet gifts, he hates V-Day because the calendar tells him he’s supposed to do those things.  Since when do we let the calendar rule our life?  We might go out to eat , or he may bring me home a sweet card or candy, but he doesn’t have to worry that Alissa Wrath will be aimed at him if he doesn’t.  I actually agree with this outlook!  However, since having our kiddos, I always try to have something special for them. I have never really had any V-Day decorations so this year I decided to make some.  I searched ever trusty pinterest and found inspiration!  My first craft was the Conversation Heart Tree.  Here is a picture     of the finished product.  I made mine a little smaller than the original, painted the styrofoam tree pink, and also added the heart topper.  I love how cute it is!  I still have to find the perfect place for it, but right now it is on the buffet in the hallway.

I made another valentine’s craft that I love!  It was originally pinned from The Peanut Paintshop , and I think it is the cutest! I do not have a vinyl machine, so I just hand painted out names.  Here is the finished product all hung up!

So sweet!  I just may have to find some more valentine decor to make!

Alissa

I went to Michael’s right after Christmas because I got a gift card (Thanks Lou!) and I saw this cute little mailbox and  knew I had to have it.

Isn’ it the sweetest?  I had some ideas floating around my head to use it like an advent calendar leading up to Valentine’s Day.

So, I jumped on pinterest and found this blog.  The Anderson Crew seems like a blog a might begin to stalk.  Anyway, back to the boxes…

I went out today and purchased  another mail box,  paint, glittery letter stickers, wooden candlesticks, and set off to work with my trusty glue gun.  Here is what the finished project looks like.

I heart them.  So much.  We are going to use them to hide love notes, little treats, maybe even a travel surprise!  They were very inexpensive to make (around $13 for both) and are going to be so much fun!  I have some more Valentine’s day decor to make, so look out for my next post!

Our life is so crazy busy right now, that I thought, “Why not add one more thing?”  So here I am! I can’t really tell you what I am going to blog about, but I will try to blog at least once a week.

Kenzie Time

Kenz and I work on her “school” every week, and today we wrote a letter to Jasmine ( the Disney Princess) as her lesson.  We worked hard on writing letters correctly, having the proper spacing between letters/words,  and placing them in the right place on the paper.  We labored over the size of her letters (some are HUGE and some are tiny),  but overall she enjoyed the lesson.  The coolest part is that thanks to pinterest and Couponing to Disney,  I found an address to mail this letter to!  She should get an autographed picture from Jasmine in a few weeks.  She is SO excited.  We are incorporating this activity into our weekly schedule and she couldn’t be happier!  A happy Kenz makes one happy Momma!

She had so much fun and was so proud of herself!
